Oyen Digital Enclosures 3R5-EB3-M Editorial Review
The Oyen Digital Mobius 5-Bay FireWire 800, eSATA, USB 3.0 Raid Hard Drive Enclosure supports up to 70TB under Mac and 65TB under Windows. It is not hot-swappable and removing a drive in JBOD mode will unmount all drives. The enclosure does not report SMART info through USB, but Oyen Digital's customer support is friendly and helpful. The enclosure can be set to JBOD mode by clearing the RAID settings. Drives previously formatted NTFS can be installed in the drive bays and accessed in JBOD mode without reformatting. The USB cable is relatively short, about 2-3 feet. The firmware can be updated, but the RaidManager app needed to install the firmware does not work under MacOS Monterey.
