The shovel weighs 3 lbs and is a very durable and handy tool for digging foxholes, camping, or emergency needs. However, there were concerns regarding its authenticity, as some customers received broken shovels that didn't hold up to strong leverage. The shovel is stamped with "USA AMES 02" or "LHB 10" and "US" on the handle and has an NSN number on the shaft, but some customers claimed that there were no Ames markings or bolt on the handle.
