Linksys N300 Wireless Dual-Band Range Extender (RE1000)

The RE1000 wireless range extender has garnered mixed reviews from users, primarily revolving around its setup process and performance. Many customers praise its ability to effectively extend wireless signal coverage in larger homes, enabling better connectivity in hard-to-reach areas. Users have noted significant improvements in wireless signal range and quality, with some stating that the device fulfills its purpose as advertised. However, the device's effectiveness is heavily dependent on proper placement; customers emphasize the importance of ensuring a strong connection between the extender and the main router. When positioned inadequately, users report experiencing slow connection speeds, with advice to use tools like "Wifi Analyzer" to measure signal strength and optimize placement. Despite the positive feedback on functionality, many users found the initial setup to be overly complex and poorly documented. There appears to be a lack of clear guidance in the provided materials, leading to frustration during the configuration process. Several users experienced challenges during setup that required multiple attempts and troubleshooting to achieve a working connection. In summary, while the RE1000 can effectively extend Wi-Fi coverage, users should be prepared for a potentially difficult setup process and remain mindful of the installation nuances that impact performance. **
