Documentary Editorial Review
**** "Hurrah! A Year of Ta-Dah" showcases the vibrant energy and flamboyant performance style synonymous with The Scissor Sisters. Fans of the band will find this DVD and accompanying live concert performance an electrifying treat that embodies their catchy, upbeat "happy music." Viewers appreciate the high-quality visuals and sound, making it a great addition to any fan’s collection, especially when played on a good home theater setup. The concert footage is reported to be clear and engaging, showcasing the band's charisma and creativity. While the primary content has been well-received, some important elements warrant caution. The live performance is rated for mature audiences, filled with X-rated language, visual spectacle, and nudity, which reviewers noted could be unsuitable for younger viewers or those who may be easily offended. The inclusion of backstage interviews, a documentary, and all of the band's music videos adds significant value, though some have mentioned that they wished for deeper insights into the band's behind-the-scenes life. However, it's essential for potential buyers to be aware that this DVD is coded for UK players (PAL format) and is not compatible with standard American DVD players (NTSC format), leading to disappointment for some. The experience of enjoying The Scissor Sisters' music in this format can be severely impacted by technical limitations. Overall, "Hurrah! A Year of Ta-Dah" appeals largely to dedicated fans of The Scissor Sisters, providing a rich, albeit at times limited, viewing experience that captures the essence of the band's appeal and their contributions to modern pop and performance. **
