The 2 HP SPL 3450 RPM, 56 Frame, 120/240V, 15/7.5Amp 5/8" Shaft, Single Phase NEMA Air Compressor Motor is a reliable product for air compressor use. It is not suitable for a table saw because it is not a TEFC motor and sawdust in the air may cause motor failure. The mount holes are standard NEMA sizing, and the steel plate hole size needed is 5/16. This motor cannot be safely run with a VFD, and it is not reversible. The wiring diagram is on the motor spec sticker. Customer experience and reception: - One customer bought this motor for an air compressor and had to replace the start capacitor after two refills. They warned that handling capacitors is dangerous and to follow safety guidelines or hire a professional. - Another customer was impressed by the Canadian make, top-notch packaging, and fair price for their 72" x 2" belt grinder. - A third customer successfully replaced a Porter Cable air compressor motor with this one and finds it to be a good value. - However, a customer reported that their motor smoked and caught fire after only 2 months of use and warned against buying a non-name brand and to cut the power when not using compressors. - Lastly, a customer who used it for a 2x72 belt grinder build experienced only slight vibration and tight windings but found that the keyway was slightly loose and the electrical connector studs were too small.
