What is Liquid Rubber Cool Foot Deck Coating made of?

Liquid Rubber Cool Foot Deck Coating is a specialized sealant formulated from high-quality liquid rubber and advanced cooling technology. This composition allows it to effectively reduce surface temperatures by up to 35%, making it an ideal choice for decks exposed to sunlight. The multi-surface nature of this product makes it versatile and suitable for various applications, including wood, concrete, and metal. As a result, it's perfect for residential decks, patios, and pool areas, providing a safe and comfortable surface even on hot days.

How does the cooling effect work?

The cooling effect of Liquid Rubber Cool Foot Deck Coating is achieved through its unique reflective properties. The light color and specialized pigments reflect sunlight, preventing heat absorption and keeping surface temperatures significantly lower. This is particularly useful in hot climates where traditional decking materials can become uncomfortably hot. Homeowners can enjoy outdoor spaces without the discomfort of hot surfaces, making this product a practical choice for decks, porches, and outdoor entertainment areas.

Can I apply this coating over existing paint or stain?

Yes, Liquid Rubber Cool Foot Deck Coating can be applied over existing paint or stain as long as the surface is clean, dry, and in good condition. It's recommended to properly prepare the surface by cleaning and removing any loose or peeling material. This ensures better adhesion and effectiveness of the cooling sealant. For best results, testing a small area first can help assess compatibility and performance, making it suitable for refreshing old decks and enhancing their appearance and functionality.

How long does it take to dry?

The drying time of Liquid Rubber Cool Foot Deck Coating varies based on environmental conditions, but typically, it dries to the touch within a few hours. For full curing, it may take up to 24 to 48 hours, depending on humidity and temperature. It's crucial to avoid foot traffic during this curing period to ensure optimal adhesion and functionality. By planning the application accordingly, users can achieve a durable and effective cooling surface without delays.

Is Liquid Rubber Cool Foot Deck Coating suitable for pool areas?

Absolutely, Liquid Rubber Cool Foot Deck Coating is an excellent choice for pool areas. Its UV-resistant properties help protect the surface from sun damage, while its cooling effect enhances comfort around the pool. By using this coating, homeowners can minimize heat build-up and prevent burning feet, making their pool area more enjoyable. Additionally, it's slip-resistant once cured, ensuring safety for everyone in and around the water.

How many coats are recommended for optimal performance?

For optimal performance and durability, applying two coats of Liquid Rubber Cool Foot Deck Coating is generally recommended. The first coat acts as a base, while the second coat enhances coverage and further improves cooling effectiveness. It’s essential to allow adequate drying time between coats to achieve the best results. This multilayer approach not only maximizes temperature reduction but also extends the lifespan of the sealant, providing long-term benefits for your decking.

What colors are available for this coating?

Liquid Rubber Cool Foot Deck Coating is available in a variety of colors to suit different aesthetic preferences and design needs. While the lighter colors are preferred for maximum cooling effects due to their reflective properties, you can choose shades that complement your home’s style. This variety allows homeowners to maintain a pleasing appearance while benefiting from the cooling technology, making it an attractive enhancement to any outdoor space.

Can this product be used on roofs?

Yes, Liquid Rubber Cool Foot Deck Coating is suitable for use on roofs as well. Its ability to significantly reduce surface temperatures makes it beneficial for flat or low-slope roofs that are often subjected to high heat. Applying this sealant can help extend the roof’s lifespan and improve energy efficiency by reflecting sunlight and reducing cooling costs. This application is particularly advantageous in hot climates where rooftop temperatures can soar.

What is the coverage area for this coating?

The coverage area of Liquid Rubber Cool Foot Deck Coating typically ranges from 75 to 100 square feet per gallon, depending on the surface porosity and texture. Proper surface preparation can help ensure a more uniform application and maximize coverage. Homeowners may want to calculate the square footage of their decking area before application to determine the amount needed, ensuring they purchase enough product for their project without excess waste.
