Kala Ukuleles UBASS-SCOUT-FS Editorial Review
The Kala Scout is an impressive instrument, particularly if you're looking for a compact bass guitar. It comes with a nice case, making it great for traveling, and the bass tones are solid. The Kala Metal Roundwound U-Bass strings are perfect for this instrument, and the preamp requires 2-3V lithium batteries. The neck has a truss rod installed and has a built-in tuner. It is suggested to get a quick release string along with a strap for a better playing experience. Overall, the Kala Scout is a great option for those looking for a compact bass guitar with good bass tones. Consideration must be given, though, to tuning often and reseating soft strings, and the built-in tuner isn't always as user-friendly as one could hope. **
