Comedy Editorial Review
"Hollywood", written by Charles Bukowski, provides a funny, candid and rather insane account of the author's experiences with getting the film "Barfly" produced. As a writer, Bukowski straddles the line between being very involved and not involved at all in the movie's production, providing a behind-the-scenes look at the ridiculousness of the project. Bukowski's writing style remains true to himself, offering a quick and compelling read for his fans and giving them someone to cheer for amidst the various misadventures. The Prose is simple, yet filled with emotions of sadness, hope, and despair, reflecting Bukowski's unique perspective on life. The book offers a glimpse into the seedy underbelly of Hollywood and is especially enjoyable for those who appreciate Bukowski's portrayal of life's realities.
