StrongArm 4870L Liftgate Assist Car Lift Support for Hatch or Liftgate 24 Inch Extended Lenght with a 79 Pound Force Rating fits 1996-2000 Honda

The StrongArm 4870L Liftgate Assist Car Lift Support is designed specifically for hatchbacks, including models like the 1996-2000 Honda Civic CX and DX. Overall, customer experiences with this product have been mixed, with several users highlighting the ease of installation and secure fit. Many reported that the lift supports perform their primary function by holding the hatch up well after installation, eliminating the need to manually prop it open. However, there appear to be notable drawbacks as well. Some customers expressed disappointment in the lift's performance compared to the original OEM parts, specifically citing that while the StrongArm struts are strong, they were slower to operate and required assistance until the hatch is lifted to a certain point. The absence of specific design features, like plastic bearing cuffs found in the original struts, raised concerns for some users regarding longevity and effectiveness. Additionally, while installation is generally straightforward, a few reviewers mentioned challenges related to the modification of end links to make them fit properly. In summary, the StrongArm 4870L Liftgate Assist struts serve as a viable option for those looking for an aftermarket solution, but potential buyers should remain aware of the performance differences when compared to genuine Honda parts. **
