Tecmate Battery Chargers Editorial Review
The Tecmate Optimate 5 is a charger-tester-maintainer designed for conventional lead acid and AGM batteries. It comes with a 6-step 12v 4A battery-saving feature. Users have cited its ability to bring back discharged batteries back to life as its most prominent feature. Although it comes with an "Eco (start/stop)" feature, it has been noted that this feature only works with lead-acid batteries for hybrid vehicles, and it is not recommended for lithium batteries and large batteries such as those found in large trucks and RVs. The Optimate 5 is not suitable for use on 8v batteries, as it requires a 24v or 48v charger. It also comes with no need for battery disconnection during charging.
