Topeak Bike Pack Accessories Editorial Review
The Topeak MTX Trunk Bag DX is highly recommended for cyclists, especially those who prefer not to wear heavy backpacks while riding long distances. It is especially useful for petite individuals who may struggle with the weight of a backpack. The bag securely holds all essential items, including extra liquids, and does not hinder maneuverability during tight turns or sudden movements. One of the standout features of this bag is its easy attachment system to Topeak MTX-racks. It slides on and snaps into place, ensuring a secure fit without any rattling or wobbling. The durability of the bag is also commendable, as it shows no signs of wear even after thousands of miles of use. The main compartment of the Trunk Bag DX is spacious and can be expanded if necessary. The yellow lining makes it easy to locate items quickly, even smaller ones. The side pockets are generously sized and can hold a significant amount of items, allowing users to reserve the main compartment for bulkier items. An additional water bottle holder is provided, which proves to be surprisingly useful. It allows for easy storage of water bottles from spectators or for carrying spare ones during longer rides. There are only two drawbacks to this bag. The optional rain cover is not recommended, as it is difficult to install and does not provide adequate protection. The bag's width may also prevent the use of panniers when using the popular Topeak Explorer bike rack. However, this can be resolved by opting for the Topeak Super Tourist rack, which allows for the combination of this trunk bag with separate panniers. Overall, the Topeak MTX Trunk Bag DX is praised for its functionality, durability, and ease of use. It is a versatile bag that caters to the needs of cyclists, particularly those who prioritize convenience and organization.
