Primus French Presses Editorial Review
The Primus Coffee and Tea Press has garnered a mixed but generally positive reception from camp coffee enthusiasts. Many users emphasize its lightweight design, making it an excellent companion for backpacking trips. Weighing only 2 ounces and collapsing into two flat pieces, it appeals to those who prioritize minimal gear. Users appreciate the quality of the coffee it brews, highlighting the difference between fresh French press coffee and instant options. While the press excels in portability and coffee quality, there are notable concerns regarding its design. A recurring issue is the lid leaking while pouring, particularly when the pot is hot, attributing this to the expansion of materials. Users have suggested that pouring slowly and using it with smaller batches can mitigate the spillage. Additionally, a reliance on the specific Primus cooking systems for proper fitting is underscored, as the press is optimized for use with these pots, which may limit its versatility. Overall, the Primus Coffee and Tea Press is a solid choice for avid campers who value great-tasting coffee despite the few drawbacks associated with its design. **
