The PANAVISE 353 Plated Steel Jaws are of high quality and very strong. They are a good thickness and machined to correct tolerances for easy attachment. However, there are a couple of issues. The top surfaces of the jaws are slightly offset from each other when fully closed, which may bother some users. Additionally, the lack of grooves or crosshatching on the inner surfaces of the jaws makes it difficult to grip workpieces that tend to roll. Despite these drawbacks, the steel jaws are still fine for general use. If you think you need them, they are worth considering.
