Kym Industries Inc. Tarps Editorial Review
If you're looking for an electric tarp motor for your dump truck, the Kym Industries Apache Series Tarp Motor might just be what you need. Made to roll and unroll a tarp, this motor is reversible and can easily change shaft direction by switching the motor termination post's polarity. However, it's important to note that this motor isn't designed for lifting applications, so it doesn't have any mechanical stop or brake built in. The gearbox's gearing keeps the tarp on the roller and prevents it from unwinding. With an output shaft speed of 99 RPM with no load and 79 RPM under load, this motor is fast and powerful. Users have mentioned that it works perfectly and is an excellent replacement for hydraulic pullers. However, one user reported a warranty issue that took a long time to resolve. Overall, the Kym Industries Apache Series Tarp Motor is a reliable and efficient solution for dump truck tarp systems, but it may not be suitable for lifting applications.
