Tram Radio Antennas 1295 Editorial Review
The Tram TRAM1295 3/8-24 Antenna Adapter allows you to mount a 3/8 inch X 24 threaded stud mount antenna onto an NMO type roof top antenna mount. The adapter is sturdy and can handle the stress of a 102-inch whip antenna. It is compatible with CB antennas and can handle up to 200 watts of power. Customers have successfully used this adapter with a variety of antennas and mounts. Some have combined it with a spring mount for added flexibility, while others have used it to attach a Firestik antenna to an NMO mount. However, it is important to note that the adapter has female NMO threads on the bottom, so it will not screw into a female SO-239 antenna mount. There were some questions about whether to include the height of the adapter in antenna calculations. The general Consensus was that it is advisable to add the height from the pin to the inside bottom of the 3/8" threaded portion in antenna calculations. Overall, customers have found the Tram TRAM1295 3/8-24 Antenna Adapter to be a reliable and versatile solution for connecting antennas to NMO mounts.
