Deep Purple Format: Audio CD Hard Rock Editorial Review
=1 (CD + DVD Digipak) is the remarkable 23rd studio album from Deep Purple, featuring the first recordings from their Mk IX lineup, including the notable addition of guitarist Simon McBride. Celebrated for their longevity and musical prowess, the band continues to impress with a sound that remains vibrant and engaging as showcased in tracks like 'Portable Door' and 'Bleeding Obvious.' Despite the changes in personnel, with the absence of longtime guitarist Steve Morse, the album strikes a chord with its intricate compositions and classic rock essence, making it a fitting tribute to the band's illustrious journey. The participation of producer Bob Ezrin further ensures that the album reflects the band's historical quality and creativity.
