Audio-Technica Open-Ear Headphones ATH-R70xa Editorial Review
**** The Audio-Technica ATH-R70xa Professional Over-Ear Open-Back Reference Headphones have garnered a chorus of praise from users, primarily for their exceptional sound quality and comfort level. Many reviewers highlight their light weight, making them ideal for extended sessions, whether for mixing in a studio or indulging in long listening marathons at home. This hallmark of comfort is further enhanced when paired with aftermarket accessories like the capraaudio headband strap, adding an extra layer of support. Listening performance is another strong suit of the ATH-R70xa. Users appreciate the articulate and flat frequency response which is critical for professional applications. Critics mentioned the headphones don't overemphasize bass, making them suitable for mixing tasks where balance is crucial. Customers have marveled at the headphone's ability to effortlessly invoke details and maintain a smooth, immersive soundscape, often comparing their listening experience favorably against other high-end brands. While the majority of feedback is overwhelmingly positive, some concerns were raised regarding build quality, with few users commenting that the materials felt somewhat cheap despite the headphones being made in Japan. Additionally, some users pointed out that the aesthetics of the cable could use improvement, and there was a note on the need for a powerful amplifier to maximize potential volume given their high impedance of 470Ω. Overall, the ATH-R70xa headphones are highly recommended for those seeking superb sound quality, comfort, and a detailed listening experience, though Prospective buyers should manage expectations regarding the physical build. **
