What Stands Out
Product Details
- Muscovite is considered to be a mica of higher quality (compared with beryl), and its color range ranges from nearly white to pink to light Ruby to reddish brown. Due to its high hardness and excellent cracking performance, it can be dissociated into thinner film layers with low risk of cracking. It is optically flat, elastic, and incompressible. The dissociated mica surface remains tough and elastic even at high temperatures.
- Chemically, mica is an aluminosilicate containing potassium, aluminum, magnesium, iron, lithium and other trace elements. It is relatively stable and inert in water, acids, alkalis, conventional solvents, and oils.
- The mica we provide contains the smallest impurities, air, and bubbles, and is clean and transparent. The thickness is approximately 0.18-0.25mm (0.007-0.01 ") to ensure that thinner, more uniform and consistent mica sheets can be dissociated and separated.
- The surface of freshly dissociated mica has the advantages of optical smoothness, cleanliness and transparency, non-destructive and fingerprint free. Mainly used in the production process of carbon support films for electron microscopes, research fields such as particle imaging, cell growth, and thin film evaporation. Muscovite is also suitable as a substrate material for high resolution atomic force microscopy, and is used in research directions such as DNA, DNA protein and film.

Customer Questions & Answers
-
Question:
What are the main uses of square mica sheets?
Answer: Square mica sheets are widely used in a variety of applications, including electrical insulation, heat resistance, and as a protective barrier in various industries. Their stability at high temperatures makes them ideal for electrical components and heating elements. Additionally, they are often employed in arts and crafts for projects requiring transparency and flexibility, such as making decorative items or in jewelry making. -
Question:
Are the mica sheets flexible or rigid?
Answer: The square mica sheets possess a level of rigidity while also being slightly flexible. This unique combination allows for versatile applications, including crafting, electrical insulation, and even in models or prototypes where shape maintenance is crucial. Their ability to be cut and shaped further enhances their usability in various projects. -
Question:
How do I cut or shape the mica sheets?
Answer: Cutting or shaping mica sheets can be done with standard craft knives or scissors. For intricate designs, a fine blade may be more suitable. It's essential to wear protective gear such as goggles while cutting, as mica dust can be generated. Use the cut pieces in arts and crafts, or to fit specialized equipment in electrical assemblies. -
Question:
Can I use these mica sheets for arts and crafts?
Answer: Absolutely! The square mica sheets are a perfect choice for various arts and crafts projects. They can be used in making decorative items, layered artwork, or even unique jewelry. Their clarity and flexibility allow for creative expression while maintaining structural integrity in designs, making them a favorite among crafters. -
Question:
What is the thickness of the mica sheets?
Answer: The thickness of these square mica sheets varies, but they are designed to be robust enough for industrial applications while still being thin enough for crafting purposes. A typical sheet may range from 0.5mm to 1mm thick, making them versatile for use in tasks that require both durability and lightness. -
Question:
Are mica sheets safe to use?
Answer: Yes, mica sheets are generally safe to use. They are non-toxic, and when handled correctly, they do not pose health risks. However, it is advisable to avoid creating excessive dust during cutting or shaping, as inhalation may cause minor irritation. These properties make them safe for educational projects, crafting, and industrial applications alike. -
Question:
What kind of adhesive works best with mica sheets?
Answer: For optimal bonding with mica sheets, adhesives like epoxy, silicone, or strong double-sided tape work best. These adhesives provide a strong hold while allowing for some flexibility. They're ideal for attaching mica to other materials in crafting applications or even to secure components in electrical assemblies. -
Question:
Can these mica sheets withstand high temperatures?
Answer: Yes, square mica sheets are known for their excellent heat resistance, making them suitable for applications involving high temperatures. They can withstand continuous exposure to temperatures of up to 1000°C. This property makes them ideal for use in electrical insulators, heating systems, and other high-temperature environments. -
Question:
How many pieces are included in a pack, and what are the dimensions?
Answer: Each pack includes 10 pieces of square mica sheets, with each sheet measuring 25x70mm. This convenient packaging makes it easy to stock up for various projects, whether you're a craftsman or an industrial user. Their dimensions are perfect for diverse uses, from crafting to technical applications. -
