WeatherFlow Weather Stations Editorial Review
The Tempest Weather System is a solar panel controlled device that is relatively easy to install and maintenance free. However, the solar panels don't receive enough light to fully charge in wintertime and WeatherFlow, the device creators, still haven't released a promised battery power pack accessory. The Tempest has no access fee or subscription charges, the mounts are rated to 120mph and the highest wind speed that the unit can safely handle is 100mph. It is suggested not to use an active chimney as a mount. The Tempest was reported to have been accurate with rainfall except in circumstances where rainfall is too light. There are no firm plans for a display console, but a basic tablet with the app is recommended which includes always on and full-screen modes for use with displays. Key
