Schmetz Universal Needle Twin Extra Wide Size 100/6.0

The Schmetz Universal Needle Twin Extra Wide Size 100/6.0 has garnered a mix of responses from its users, highlighting both its strengths and weaknesses. Many customers have reported positive experiences, especially when it comes to achieving clean, professional-looking hems on a variety of fabrics, including jogging pants and knit shirts. Users appreciate the versatility of this needle, noting that it provides an excellent option for sewing and topstitching, effectively mimicking the results of a cover stitch machine. The double stitch feature is a favorite among those who seek to enhance the finish of their garments without the hassle of backstitching, as the design allows for slow and steady sewing to avoid needle breakage. However, there are some drawbacks that can't be overlooked. A few customers encountered issues with the needle breaking during use, particularly when fitted into specific machines, such as a Singer HD machine. One reviewer mentioned that the needle could not be properly positioned because the thread feed block interfered with its placement. Additionally, although the quality of the needle is praised, concerns were raised regarding the durability of the rubber component, which some users found to be prone to slippage. Overall, the Schmetz Universal Needle Twin Extra Wide shows strong customer satisfaction, particularly for specific projects requiring double stitching, yet it may not be suitable for all machines due to its specific fit and potential fragility during use. **
