Product Details
- Kill fire ants in minutes* with Ortho® Orthene® Fire Ant Killer1. It not only kills the queen, it also destroys the mound! Simply sprinkle the amount indicated on the label of the dry powder over each mound. Do not water-in. For the best results, apply when ants are active and to new mounds as they appear. Use only as a mound treatment for home lawns and around ornamental plants (including flowers, shrubs, and trees). Try not to disturb the mounds while treating. Applications made under prolonged hot and dry conditions may be ineffective due to the location of ants deep in the nest. You should also not apply just before the rains fall. One 12 oz. bottle of Ortho® Orthene® Fire Ant Killer1 treats up to 162 mounds. This is Step 1 of the Ortho® 2-Step treatment method and can be used along with Ortho® Fire Ant Killer Broadcast Granules as part of the Ortho® Fire Ant 2-Step Program. (*Kills in 60 minutes.) When you use Ortho® Orthene® Fire Ant Killer1, you'll be able to confidently protect your home from invading fire ants.
