The Pilgrim Home and Hearth Pilgrim 19630-1 Fireplace Hearth Rug is a high-quality product that is designed to protect the floor in front of the hearth or wood stove from fire sparks and debris. It measures 27" x 46" and comes in a beautiful khaki color that blends well with most decors. The rug is fire retardant and meets the ASTM D2859 flammability standard for Consumer floor covering. The rug is made of durable material that doesn't bunch or slide and can withstand multiple embers falling on it. It does a great job of keeping the area clean and is excellent for use in front of a fireplace or wood stove. The rug also doubles as a comfortable spot for pets to lie down in front of the fire. One downside to the rug is that it is not thermal protection and should not be used under pellet or wood stoves. If you require thermal protection, refer to the pellet appliance owner's manual for specifically tested and approved hearth pads for your stove. Another issue is that the rug can melt if an ember hits the fabric, and the fire retardant meets the bare minimum. So, any hot coals need to be removed immediately, or they will burn right through to the floor.
