Diamond Select Toys Statues MAR152065 Editorial Review
The Godzilla figure under review emerges as a commendable addition to the collection of any Kaiju enthusiast, particularly those focused on the X-plus 30 cm series. While it may not achieve the same level of detail or scale as the X-plus figures, reviewers appreciate its quality and craftsmanship for the price point. This figure serves multiple purposes; it can be seen both as a decorative piece and as a functional bank. Collectors find the sculpt impressive, noting that it represents a specific and often hard-to-find iteration of Godzilla from 1974. Many customers highlight that the figure is larger than expected and fits well into their collections, making it an attractive option for fans and collectors alike. The absence of articulation does not seem to be a significant drawback for most, as it is designed in a classic Showa era pose that captures the essence of the character. While generally well-received, there are minor criticisms regarding the paint quality on certain figures, which some found to be sloppy. Additionally, the oversized eyes received a mix of reactions, with some collectors pointing this out as a flaw, while others embraced the unique design choice. Overall, the Godzilla figure presents a compelling combination of affordability, size, and nostalgic appeal, making it a popular choice among fans looking for a quality display piece rooted in the rich history of the Kaiju genre. **
