Milwaukee 2896-26 M18 Fuel 6 Tool Combo Kit

The Milwaukee 2896-26 M18 Fuel 6 Tool Combo Kit is positioned as an ideal entry point for DIY enthusiasts transitioning from other brands like Ryobi, particularly for those looking to invest in a more durable and reliable tool set. Reviewers have noted that the tools are surprisingly powerful for cordless options, often equating their performance to that of traditional corded tools. One customer detailed a remarkable experience using just two batteries to complete extensive electrical work without the need for recharging, underscoring the longevity and efficiency of the batteries supplied in the kit. On the flip side, some experiences with the kit have been problematic. Specifically, the included Sawzall was reported as defective, failing immediately upon use, which detracted from the overall experience. Additionally, the 6.5” circular saw was criticized for its underwhelming power, particularly when cutting through thicker materials. This led the user to acquire a more powerful 7-1/4” saw to meet their needs, indicating that while the kit starts strong, it may require upgrades for heavier tasks. Another point of contention amongst users is the inclusion of soft carrying bags instead of hard cases for each tool, which can lead to cosmetic damage and inconvenience during transport. Also, the kit technically comprises five actual tools, a light, and a charger, leading some to believe the value could have been better articulated. Despite the issues raised, users remain loyal to Milwaukee for their overall quality and performance, emphasizing that, with careful selection and additional investment, one can assemble a superior set of tools well worth the initial outlay. ###
